Ekonomija dijeljenja odnosi se na prelazak na slobodnu trgovinu robom i uslugama, a ne na upotrebu novca za predstavljanje vrijednosti.
This harkens back to a time before civilization – when we would have made deals with one another by discussing what we could offer our friends and fellow tribesmen and women.
Money is more practical but it of course creates great inequality and countless other problems.
But thanks to the internet, trade is back in a big way.
That’s because it’s now possible to ask an entire community for goods and services from the comfort of your home.
Got something you need done? Just check the app and see if there’s someone in the local area willing to do it in exchange for something you can do.
Some of the most innovative businesses in recent memory have been built on this notion.
Here are a few of them…
Uber is a taxi company that does away with the taxis.
The idea is that anyone can sign up and then offer lifts through the app and that users will then have the convenience of being able to choose their driver based on their fee and how far away from them.
Bottom line is that getting a lift is now much cheaper and the taxi industry is quaking in its boots.
AirBnB is to hotels what Uber is to taxis.
In other words, this is a tool that lets you find accommodation without paying over the odds for a hotel.
Instead, you’re paying to stay in someone front room, their outhouse or their holiday home.
And if you have some spare space yourself, there’s nothing to prevent you making a little money from that!
Couchsurfing takes this concept one step further by allowing users to invite people to stay on their couches completely for free! The only expectation is that they extend the same offer to other users and that way, they can guarantee they have a free place to stay as they travel anywhere in the world!
Schpock is a ‘bootsale app’ meaning that it allows you to make money by selling your old things that you don’t need any more to people in the local area.
It’s a great way to make money from something small that you wouldn’t be able to sell elsewhere and it’s a great way to get cheap things.
And you can even trade things directly, doing away with the need for cash!
What Does It Feel Like to Have a Successful, Game Changing Software Launch?
Who wouldn’t want to be the next Steve Jobs? The next Mark Zuckerberg? The next Elon Musk?
The idea of having some kind of groundbreaking idea that changes the way that people work and play is something that is hugely appealing to many of us.
And now, thanks to many new modern technologies, it is more possible than ever before for this to happen for us.
You don’t need a big team and you don’t need to work with manufacturing companies – you can have a great idea, create it online and then distribute it around the world!
But what is it actually like? Does the reality live up to the dream? And is this something you should really be aiming for?
The Reality of Success
This is something that I have a little experience in.
I haven’t changed the world or become insanely rich, but I did have an app that made me over $40,000 in the first year.
And for a while it changed everything for me at least.
The best part of the whole experience was having that initial ‘eureka moment’.
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing – I was talking to a friend and explaining an app I was working on and it was the experience of telling him about it that showed me how it could be made better.
And that was the moment the idea was born!
I vividly remember the moment that the app started to take off too.
You could sign in to Google and see in real time how many sales you were getting on Android and I was at a house party when I realized that they were really taking off.
I was no fun at that party because I kept checking my phone!
It wasn’t all great though. Because along with the sheer excitement I actually had a huge amount of anxiety.
I was finally seeing one of my dreams become a reality in front of my eyes. I’d made it.
But what if it stopped? What if the app was taken down? Or what if it just went out of fashion?
It was a wild ride but I can tell you that for me – it eventually did come to an end after a few years.
It still makes me a hundred to two hundred dollars a month but the sales are nothing like they used to be.
I still look back on that as being one of the most exciting times in my life though.
And one of the things that I am most proud of!
